Day 35 - Exploring Portland with Kristi

More than particular moments, this was a day best explained in photos, so I'll mostly leave it at that. We had a great time wandering around and managed just by choosing random streets and turns to end up running into just about everything we had vaguely planned on seeing - I think Kristi has a magic sense of direction or something ;) We met up with Dave for lunch at his office, then had a bridge adventure and explored the Hawthorne neighborhood before we said our goodbyes and I headed back out on the MAX (the metro train) to the suburbs.

 Portland Chinatown
 Yay for street art!
 At the famous Voodoo Donuts

The selection is insane, and all the ones we tried were very tasty, including the Bacon Maple donut ;)
 Ommnomnom
 Teaching Gnome chess
Teacher appreciation fountain
Our donuts riding the cart escalator in Target
Best parking garage ever - near Portland State
St. John's Bridge from Cathedral Park
 Willow tree
 Woah giant sunflower!
Walking over a bridge helps you appreciate just how big it is, it took a surprisingly long time to even get half way compared to driving over just a few minutes previously
So we've all seen/read about drawbridges that have two parts that lift up on hinges, but this rail bridge just had an entire section that moved vertically!
Going back down
There's something fascinating about bridge architecture
